Project Title

Smart Line-Following and Object-Detection Robot Controller PCB

Screening Task

eSim Semester Long Internship - Autumn 2026
Task 7: PCB Design Using eSim

Project Summary

This submission contains a complete two-layer robot-controller PCB
designed using eSim 2.5 and its integrated KiCad tools.

The PCB supports:

  • Arduino Nano controller
  • Six IR line-sensor interfaces
  • HC-SR04 ultrasonic-sensor interface
  • Servo interface for directional object detection
  • Two external L298N motor-driver interfaces
  • Protected battery input
  • External regulated 5 V buck-converter interface
  • Power, status, and object-detection indicators
  • Five electrical test points
  • Four mechanical mounting holes

Final Design Results

  • Copper layers: 2
  • Pads: 124
  • Vias: 30
  • Track segments: 320
  • Electrical nets: 37
  • Unrouted connections: 0
  • ERC errors: 0
  • ERC warnings: 0
  • DRC violations: 0
  • DRC unconnected items: 0

Submitted Files

  • Complete KiCad project files
  • Final technical report in PDF format
  • Editable report in DOCX format
  • Bill of Materials in XLSX and CSV formats
  • Task 7 project proposal
  • Schematic, footprint, routing, DRC, Edge.Cuts, and 3D screenshots

Validation Scope

The design was digitally validated using KiCad Electrical Rules Checker,
complete two-layer routing, Design Rules Checker, Edge.Cuts inspection,
and KiCad 3D visualization.

Physical PCB fabrication, assembly, and hardware testing were outside
the scope of this screening submission.

Add Smart Line Follower Object Detector PCB project
Add final report, complete KiCad project, BOM, proposal and verification screenshots for Task 7.
